<p>The ignition system, for an internal combustion engine, consists of a magnet (19) mounted on the edge of a rotating disc (18) and interacting with the arm ends of a stationary E-shaped core (10). Each arm of the core carries a coil: the first arm, a control coil (14); the second arm, the charging coil (12); and the third arm, the ignition transformer (16 17). All as in 1763306. To reduce the cost of the ignition system the control coil arm (13) is constructed thinner than the other two arms of the core. This control-coil arm is also separated from the rest of the core by an air gap (28) and forms a piece apart by itself.</p> |
