1280128 Filled casing GENERAL MILLS Inc 19 April 1971 [18 March 1970] 24580/71 Heading A2B A filled casing is prepared by forming a plastic mass from an aqueous liquid and a proteinaceous substance having a protein content of at least 65 wt %, the said proteinaceous substance comprisin gat least 50 wt % of a particulate non-heat-coagulable simple protein source material having a protein content of at least 65 wt %, for example wheat gluten or keratin, extruding the plastic mass at an elevated temperature through an annular die into a gaseous medium so as to form a casing, and, simultaneously with the extrusion, introducing a flowable material, for example water, corn syrup, liquid oil, gelatin, jam, jelly, meat emulsion, mustard, tomato sauce, peanut butter, or a pudding or cooking dough, as filling within the space formed by the casing as it is formed. |
