1294053 Thiophosphoric acid esters BAYER AG 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970] 24542/71 Heading C2P The invention comprises compounds of the Formula I where X is oxygen or sulphur, Y is halogen, C 1-4 alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, or alkylsulphinyl or nitro, and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, the substituents Y being the same or different when m is 2 or 3. The compounds of Formula I may be prepared by (a) reacting a suitable O-ethyl-S-n-propylhalophosphorothiolate with a benzyl or substituted benzyl mercaptan or salt thereof, (b) reacting a compound of the Formula IV where M<SP>2</SP> is a metal or ammonium, with an optionally substituted benzyl halide, (c) reacting a compound of Formula VI with sulphur or hydrogen peroxide. The compounds of Formula I may be used as insecticides, acaricides and nematocides, either alone or as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions. |
