Spray pack diffusion coatings for Cb and Ta-based metals In a simplified and quicker coating technique, the metal article is coated with a slurry and heated in non-oxidising conditions until the constituent are diffused into the metal surface. The slurry contains Cr and Ti as the coating components, and also an inorganic halide activator and a polyolefinic resin which volatilises without leaving any carbon residue. This may then be followed by a similar application of a silicon-containing slurry.
