The invention relates to a deep-drilling cement consisting of a hydraulic binder and, if appropriate, additives and aggregates. In order to obtain high strengths coupled with low density of a mud prepared therefrom, plastic powder is admixed in a quantity of about 50 to 800 kg/m<3> of mud, the plastic powder consisting of tough-hard or brittle, alkali-resistant particles which have a grain size smaller than about 2 mm and which are unfilled or lightly filled and do not drastically reduce their tensile strength until at least about 10 DEG C above the particular maximum static drill-hole temperature.
