1319181 Windscreen wipers K SAKAMOTO 8 June 1971 [3 July 1970] 19508/71 Heading A4F A windshield wiper comprises a wiper blade 3 a wiper arm 1<SP>1</SP> a clip 7<SP>1</SP> for connecting blade and arm and a spring 5<SP>1</SP> for retaining the arm in the clip, the clip having a housing 21 with spaced apart bent portions 2<SP>1</SP> b 2<SP>1</SP>c for holding the arm and enabling the clip to be connected to the arm only by a longitudinal sliding movement, the spring being supported by one of the bent portions 2<SP>1</SP>c, having a projecting claw 5<SP>1</SP>a for engaging a hole 1<SP>1</SP>a in the arm and an abutment 5<SP>1</SP>b for an end of the arm, one end of the spring being fixed to the housing and the other being capable of being swung away from the housing to enable the claw 5<SP>1</SP>a to be disengaged from the hole in the arm 1<SP>1</SP>a. The spring may be fixed to the housing by engagement of bent portion 2<SP>1</SP>c with recesses in the spring (5<SP>1</SP>d) Fig.8 (not shown) or by a rivet (6) Fig.9 (not shown). |
