The seam, or the tacking stitch is formed by a bent needle, which enters into the materials from one side, and emerges on the same side, at a different point, with its tip and the thread. It then forms a stitch with a second thread or the previous thread loop, and is removed from the materials on the same way. The machine sews or tacks materials, which contact or are positioned above each other, and accessible from one side only. It may also be used for surgical purposes, e.g. closing of skin cuts. It may then be set so as to sew only single stitches. |
