1370372 Force simulator for simulated flight controls ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE CHARLEROI 22 Oct 1971 [22 Oct 1970 24 Sept 1971] 49177/71 Heading B7W [Also in Division F2] A force simulator for flight controls of a simulated aircraft includes: a frame 4, on which is mounted a flight control member (not shown) for simulating the action of a rudder or aileron; a first lever 1 pivotally connected to the frame 4 by means of a shaft 3; a connecting element 8 for transmitting forces between the flight control member and the first lever 1; a support 14 pivotally connected to the frame by means of the shaft 3; a linkage 15 fixed on the support 14; a ring 5 held by the linkage 15 at a specific distance from the shaft 3; a second lever 2 connected to the first lever 1, which second lever 2 is arranged to slide and pivot in the ring 5; and at least one spring 7 bearing at one end on the ring and at the other end on the second lever 2. The distance of the ring 5 from the pivot 3 may be varied by a ram 11 mounted on the support 14 in the form of a plate. The effect of the spring is to tend to return the levers to the position shown, the effect being enhanced by a pivoting joint 28 between the first and second levers having two symmetrically offset pivot points 18. A ram 16 may pivot the plate 14 so that the position to which the levers tend to return may be varied. In another embodiment, Fig. 6, provided with a similar support plate 14, the first lever includes a drum 19 with the shaft at its centre and the connection between the first and second levers is through a third lever 24 pivoted to the second lever 2 and the support plate 14, the third lever 24 being connected to the drum by two wires each being fixed to one point 23 on the third lever, passing round a groove in the side of the drum, and being fixed to one point on the side of the drum remote from the lever. |
