<p>1283230 Naphthalene - 2,6 - dicarboxylic acid TEIJIN Ltd 6 Aug 1969 39451/69 Heading C2C Naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid is made by heating a monoalkali salt of the acid in water or an aqueous organic solvent, whereby the free acid is precipitated and a dialkali salt of the acid remains in the mother liquor. The starting material may be prepared by treating a dialkali salt of the acid with carbon dioxide or by known rearrangement reactions from napthalene mono- or di-carboxylic acids other than naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid. Examples of such processes are given.</p> |
