Port protector or closures, pref. of polyethylene, for threaded ports in valves, hydraulic brake cylinders, or air brake cylinders and actuators, is a resilient, cylindrical member with an interrupted external thread and a circular end cap which forms an annular flange. A depending ring around the edge of the flange engages the surface around the port, and spaces the flange from it, when the closure is slid into position, so that the cylinder is in axial tension. |
