OPTICAL TRANSMISSION MODULE

PURPOSE:To provide an optical transmitter in which communication is implemented at a low code error rate at a transmission speed exceeding the order of Gb/s. CONSTITUTION:An optical transmission module 18 is provided with a semiconductor module 7 provided with a semiconductor laser 8 and an impedance matching element 12, a drive circuit 1 driving the semiconductor laser 8 to allow the laser 8 to radiate an optical signal, and an optical fiber 16 used to send an optical signal therethrough, and the impedance matching element 12 is used to make the impedance of the semiconductor laser module 7 coincident with the impedance of the drive circuit 1. Furthermore, in order to reduce a fall time of the optical signal, an impedance element 14 is employed to reduce the input impedance of the semiconductor laser module 7 when viewed from the drive circuit 1.
