<p>The pref. polymers are 1,5-trans-polypenteneamers of formula: Distance pieces of such multicore cables are pref. made of the same polymer. The covering can be readily peeled off if free ends are required for splice boxes or branch lines. The polymer is sufficiently strong to allow sheating of the cable with wire mesh or iron hoops. Pipes or pipe systems for the transport of cold or hot, liq or gaseous media can be lagged with the polymer. The polymer is easily workable and is pref. used in admixture with 30-85 wt.% esp 70-80 wt. % of inactive or semi-active fillers, e.g. chalk, kaolin.</p> |
