PURPOSE:To revise a file without interrupting a call in communication with respect to the file revision method of a packet exchange system. CONSTITUTION:The method is a file revision method of a packet exchange system in which plural call processors 11a, 11b including at least one standby system each having a file 3 and a maintenance processor 1 are interconnected by a bus 2, each of the call processors 11a, 11b is provided with a flow management stop means 12 selecting its own call processor 11a(11b) to be a state of not managing the flow control variable information when the processor is in operation as an active system call processor and receives a prescribed command from the maintenance processor 1 and with a flow management restoration means 13 extracting flow control variable information from a packet received from a busy terminal equipment and restoring its own call processor 11b to the state of managing the flow control variable information.
