1523017 Electric coupling HI-G Inc 12 Nov 1976 [14 Nov 1975] 47206/76 Heading H2E A miniature relay assembly comprises a onepiece radio-frequency adaptor 34, 234 and a miniature relay 10, 210 having an electrically conductive header 12, 212 with a flat face and projecting pins 16, 216, wherein the adaptor comprises an electrically condutive body having a planar supporting base 38, 238 with a series of pin receiving holes 40, 240 therein, the adaptor body surrounding the holes serving as radio frequency shells which are interconnected by the base 38, 238. The adaptor may, Fig. 1, comprise shells 36 secured to the base 38 by soldering, brazing, welding, threaded connection, peening or riveting, a coaxial cable passing therethrough to enable the cable braid 26 to be secured to sleeve 32 which is soldered to the respective adaptor shell 36, whilst the centre conductor 22 is soldered, by heating solder band 23, to a pin 16. A heat-shrink plastics sleeve 21 secures the connection of the centre conductor 22 to the pin. After effecting the pin-co-axial cable connections, an epoxy adhesive preform 42 and the adaptor 34 are placed in position on header 12, low temperature melting and curing of the preform 42 establishing an electrical connection between the adaptor 34 and the header 12. The adaptor may, Fig. 2, not shown, comprise a single block of metal or conductive coated plastics having a series of holes formed therethrough. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3, the shells 236 are externally threaded to receive connector 254, a plastics insulation sleeve 252 being employed to surround connective device 20 which is a friction fit on the pin 16.
