PURPOSE:To obtain a method for detecting blow-bye of exhaust valve in which an accurate decision can be made by detecting gas flow directly at the time of blow-bye of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:In the method for detecting blow-bye of exhaust valve, a rod member 2 is projected into gas flow oh the outlet side of an engine exhaust valve, an acceleration sensor 3 is fixed to the root on the outer side of exhaust port, vibration level of the rod member 2 is measured when the exhaust valve 1 is closed and combustion takes place in a cylinder, and the vibration level thus measured is compared with a normal level. |
