The present invention relates to an improved absorption refrigeration system of the type using a lithium halide/water cycle, and to a process for reducing substantially the superheating of concentrated lithium halide in such a system. In one embodiment, baffles (28, 29, 30) defining a substantial pathway are provided over which superheated concentrated lithium halide solution is passed on its way to an exit opening (33), so as to substantially reduce the degree of superheating of such solution. In another embodiment (Fig. 1, not shown), inclined baffles (14, 15) are provided. Liquid droplets fall onto the baffles, and as the liquid moves down the plates, water evaporates off so reducing the degree of superheating. <IMAGE> |
