PURPOSE:To perform keyboard input effectively, by making key tops of respective character keys possible to display selectively of various characters on the basis of a signal sent out of a display driver. CONSTITUTION:When an operator selects and presses one of control keys 1a- 1d according to input data, a control code generator 2 generates a control code corresponding to the selected control key and sends it to a decision processor 4. Then, the processor 4 reads character data corresponding to the sent control code out of a data memory 3 and outputs it to the display driver 5. Then, characters of kinds assigned at this time are displayed on key tops of respective character keys 6. Therefore, the user views and confirms the characters displayed on the key tops of the character keys 6 to input necessary data and consequently, input errors are reduced greatly to speed up the input operation. |
