CARPET CONTAMINATION LEVEL DETECTOR

PURPOSE:To detect the contamination level of a carpet by detcting a light reflected in the specified direction after it irradiates the surface of the carpet from the specified direction. CONSTITUTION:Light irradiates at the contamination level measuring point O of the carpet 1 from a light source 2. The angle theta1 is set at about 60 deg. between the irradiation light from the light source 2 and the normal ON. As there are numerous convexes and concaves on the surface of the carpet 1, irradiation light at the point O from the light source 2 reflects in various directions above the surface of the carpet 1. In this apparatus, the quantity of light only reflected in the direction inclined at theta2 (about 30 deg.) is measured with a photodetector 3. Light irradiation and reception at 60 deg. and 30 deg. respectively enables the reading of changes in the color difference matching the visual sense.
