<p>PURPOSE:To always instruct optimum diagnosis to users by selecting the suitable instruction based on a diagnostic tree and executing a problem resolution process interactively with users. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a knowledge base 3 storing knowledge required for diagnosis, and a diagnostic tree constructing means 5 to construct the diagnostic tree, which respectively expresses the instruction applied to the user and an answer from the user with an instruction node and an answer node and constitutes the combination of possible diagnosis in the shape of a tree corresponding to the instruction node and the answer node, based on the knowledge in the knowledge base 3. Then, the suitable instruction is selected based on the diagnostic tree, and the problem resolution process is executed interactively with the user. On the other hand, the diagnostic tree constructing means 5 calculates the distribution of cause probability at each answer node of the diagnostic tree and the probability of recovery at each instruction node based on the knowledge in the knowledge base 3 and expresses the instruction node having the recovery probability higher than a certain value as a problem resolving state. Therefore, the optimum instruction can be always applied to the user.</p> |
