PURPOSE:To form a carrier for a dry process developer which has high mechanical strength and maintains the initial quality of the developed image without deterioration with long-term use by providing a coating layer consisting of a silicone resin contg. fine particles of Si-Al-O-N ceramics on the surface of nucleous particles. CONSTITUTION:Ordinarily used materials such as nonmetals, metals and metallic alloys such as sand, cobalt, iron, copper, nickel, zinc, aluminum, brass, glass, etc. having 10-1,000mu, more preferably 30-500mu average grain size are widely used fo the carrier nucleous particles to be coated with a silicone resin. The silicone resin layer can be satisfactorily formed by coating the compsn. of the coating layer on the surface of said nucleous particles by conventional known means such as spraying. The compsn. of the coating layer is prepd. by adding fine particles of Si-Al-O-N ceramics to a silicone resin soln. and dispersing the particles with a suitable mixer. The fine particles of the ceramics to be dispersed into the coating layer have preferably about 0.1-4mu grain size and are preferably added at 5-50pts.wt. to 100pts.wt. the silicone resin. |
