A stroke measuring head for a hydraulic piston has a support rod, a potentiometer coupled to a rotating shaft sealed to a bearing by a profiled high pressure gasket, a second high pressure gasket sealing the bearing to the rod, a low pressure gasket sealing a potentiometer support to a second shaft fixed to the potentiometer, a second low pressure gasket sealing the support to the potentiometer cashing, a protective sheathcovering the casing and its cable, and an outlet from the potentiometer and its support for oil penetrating the rod.
