PURPOSE:To improve a horizontal resulution by constituting a solid-state image pickup element so as to read with each horizontal CCD after all signal charges to occur at a photodetecting part are divided into two charge accumulating parts. CONSTITUTION:A photodetecting part 10 has a photoelectric converting element arranged in a matrix shape, a micro color filter is arranged on the photodetecting part 10 and the micro color filter has three colors R, G and B corresponding to respective photoelectric converting elements. Under the photodetecting part 10, two charge accumulating parts 13 and 14 are provided. The first accumulating part 13 is arranged adjoining with the photodetecting part 10 and at the output edge, equipped with the first horizontal CCD 15. The second accumulating part 14 is adjoining with the first accumulating part 13, is arranged at the position to sandwich the first horizontal CCD 15 and in the same way, at the output edge, equipped with the second horizontal CCD 16. The signal charge of colors R and B accumulated at the first accumulating part and the signal charge of the color G accumulated at the second accumulating part are successively transferred to equivalent CCD 15 and CCD 16.
