PURPOSE:To enhance the running stability and turn-around ability of a vehicle, by supporting a rear wheel axle to a vehicle body by use of knuckle spindles at positions above and below the axle, and by providing means for changing the caster angle in accordance with the running condition of the vehicle, to the knuckle spindles. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve is actuated in accordance with the running condition of a vehicle to extend and retract hydraulic cylinders 16L, 16R. Therefore, knuckle spindles 1 are tilted forward and rearward in association with the forward and backward movements of upper arms 3. With this arrangement, a caster angle is give so as to make caster trail positive and negative. That is, upon rectilinear movement, pistons 17 are retracted to incline the knuckle spindles 1 rearward so that the caster trail is made to be positive to stabilize the rectilinearity. Upon turning, the operation is reversed so that the caster trail is negative to enhance the turnability. With this arrangement, it is possible to enhance the running stability and the turn-around ability. |
