PURPOSE:To provide a base film with sufficient heat resistance and contrive enhancement of feedability and heat resistance of a thermal transfer ink film, by applying a mixture of a specified resin with an oil to one side of a film. CONSTITUTION:A mixture obtained by adding 2-25 pts.wt. of a silicone oil to 100 pts.wt. of an oil-soluble ethyl cellulose resin is applied to one side of a film in e coating weight (upon drying) of 0.05-1.0g/m<2>, thereby enhancing thermal stability of the film, and a thermal transfer ink is applied to the other side of the film, thereby enhancing thermal stability. The ethyl cellulose preferably has an ethoxyl substitution degree (the number of ethoxyl groups attached through substitution per one monomeric unit of glucose anhydride) of at least 1.3 and a solution viscosity (at 25 deg.C) of a 5wt.% solution thereof in a 80/20 (by weight) mixture of toluene end ethanol of 2.5-400cps. It is preferable that the silicone oil has a polar substituent group linked to a terminal or side chain thereof through an alkyl group, and is partially substituted by polar groups such as hydroxyl and amino. |
