The invention relates to a high-pressure gas gauging device (100), particularly for a reserve of gaseous oxygen on board an aeroplane, which device is connected to a reservoir or to several reservoirs of gas, whose outlets are interconnected. According to the invention, each reservoir (R1, R2, R3) is provided on the one hand with a pressure regulator (RP1, RP2, RP3) connected to a common outlet channel (104) and, on the other hand, with a pressure sensor (CP1, CP2, CP3) producing a signal proportional to the pressure prevailing in the said reservoir or reservoirs. The said pressure sensor or sensors is/are connected to a calculation and storage unit (120) permitting determination, on the basis of the values stored in the said unit for different pressure values, the coefficient of compressibility of the gas contained in each individual reservoir and, consequently, the overall available capacity. The said calculation unit additionally comprises an indicator (140) for the display of this overall available capacity. Application in particular to the gauging of the gaseous oxygen reserve on board aeroplanes for supply to breathing masks. <IMAGE>
