PURPOSE:To inspect the propriety of the diameter, upper end face and height of the neck of a preform by the outputs of a pair of measuring elements disposed at both sides of the moving line of the preform, pressure change of the pressure-reduced preform, and sensors when a reference member for holding the neck of the preform and a head member in contact with the upper end face are moved. CONSTITUTION:The neck W2 of a preform W is passed whole pushing to open measuring elements 113a, 113b. Then, a neck diameter inspecting device measures the opening amount of the elements 113a, 113b by a sensor 116, and compares the measured value with upper and lower limiting set values. If the diameter exceeds the upper or lower limiting set value, it is judged as being improper. Then, a head member 124 is pressed on the upper end face of the neck W2 to evacuate the interior of the preform negative pressure, and if the pressure abruptly rises, it is judged as being improper. Then, the member 124 is pressed to the upper end face of the neck, an interval between a detection piece 131 and a sensor 133 is measured, and if the measured value exceeds the upper or lower limiting set value of height, it is judged as being improper. Thus, an accurate inspection is performed. |
