PURPOSE:To easily attain the restoration to an original master even though the software is once partly changed by dividing a file for software to be down loaded into a master file and a partial update file and registering the history information on the partial update of the software for each specific terminal. CONSTITUTION:A data file for software to be down loaded is added to a computer 1 and then divided into a master file 3 which contains all data on a specific version TV and a partial update file 4 which contains the partial change data. The histories of these two files 3 and 4 are controlled by a history control file 6. The computer 1 checks the version TV of the file 3 received from each terminal 2 and the update number of the file 4 at application of a power supply. Then the computer 1 down loads the necessary part. Thus the software for partial update is down loaded and can be easily returned to the old software. Then the version TV is properly used.
