MGO-C REFRACTORY USING COMPOSITE GRAPHITE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the inferior oxidation resistance of graphite as a significant defect and to obtain MgO-C refractories having superior oxidation and corrosion resistances. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of nonoxidizable boron compds. such as B4C and BN are allowed to be present on the surface of graphite or between the layers of the graphite by 5-40wt.% (expressed in terms of B2O3 with resin or pitch as a medium to provid oxidation preventing function to the graphite itself. By using the resulting composite graphite, the oxidation and corrosion resistances of MgO-C refractories are improved.
