APPARATUS FOR MATCHING SUPERCONDUCTIVE FILAMENT

PURPOSE: To form the layer of filaments by matching superconducting filaments. CONSTITUTION: A matching device includes a back board 12 and many motor- driven supply spools 16. Each supply spool is revolvably mounted on the back board 12 and each supply spool holds one end of each superconducting filament 20. The end on the opposite side to each filament 20 is mounted on a single revolvable wire winding spool 26. A combined board 14 receives each superconducting filament 20 and guides each filament 20 to be the layer of matched superconducting filament 20 as the filaments are carried from each supply spool to a winding spool. Each tension controller 28 is engaged to the superconducting filament 20 related to each supply spool 16 and fixed speed of a related supply spool motor is set to match with winding spool speed.
