The invention concerns a safety arrangement for holding a person 1 in a fixed orientation relative to a chair 2 or the like using one or more safety belts 3, in a position selected by the person, in which arrangement one or more safety belts 3 are adapted to be passed round and thus hold the person in the said position. Each safety belt, in each case at its point of attachment, cooperates with a catch mechanism 4 which can adopt an active position, locking the displacement of the belt relative to the catch mechanism, and an inactive position releasing the displacement of the belt relative to the catch mechanism. The said catch mechanism 4 can be acted upon 10 by the said person so as to assume an active position. The catch mechanism adopts the said active position as long as the said safety belt 3 acts with a tensile force on the catch mechanism 4 and, when the tensile force reduces and/or ceases, the catch mechanism 4 adopts the inactive position. <IMAGE> |
