PURPOSE:To provide an oxide superconducting wire by providing a sheath excellent in strength and sufficient in practical handling, to facilitate working to a coil or the like, to prevent easy deformation in a magnetic field and to maintain a good superconduction characteriatic and the initial superconduction characteristic. CONSTITUTION:An oxide superconducting wire material is coated with a silver alloy layer containing prescribed wt.% alkaline earth metal, zircomium, aluminum, yttrium, scandium and/or lanthanum group element, and by heat treating under presence of oxygen, an oxide superconducting wire is obtained. Or a coating material in a pipe form is charged with power of an oxide super conductor, and a fine wire long scaling process and flatting or forging process may be applied by a wire drawing means, rolling means and a swaging means. |
