Powder inhaler

The inhaler, e.g. for treating nasal passage or lung complaints with an atomised powdered medication, consists of a propellant gas container (3) and a reservoir (2) for the medication, equipped with valves (8,12) for delivering their contents through a jet (7) into a nose or mouth nozzle (5). The valves are linked to a controller which governs the amount of atomised powder dispensed and intervals between applications. The powder dispensed by the inhaler is in the form of micro-spheres, and the dosage controller incorporates a counter for the micro-spheres, e.g. in the form of a microprocessor and a memory unit which contains data on the quantity of medication to be absorbed and the frequency with which it can be taken.
