PURPOSE: To obtain a good display image bearing comparison with an excellent article without increase of a production cost even when light drop-out regions exist in a light shielding layer by arranging a color part at least consisting essentially of the same material as a material of a blue color part in the light drop-out region of the light shielding layer. CONSTITUTION: In a counter substrate 301, the light shielding layers 311 of matrix shape are arranged on a glass substrate 300, the color parts 321 of a pigment dispersion type having respective spectral characteristics of red(R), blue(B) and green(G) are arranged between light shielding layers 311 and counter electrodes 341 are arranged on the part 321 via a smoothing layer 331. The light drop-out regions such as pinholes in the light shielding layers 311 are detected by irradiating the layers with a light from a rear surface of the substrate 300. When the light drop-out regions are detected, a colored resin coating material consisting of the same material as the material constituting the blue color part, that is a blue resin coating material in which a pigment having blue (B) spectral characteristics is dispersed in the resin is attached at a top end part of a needle and thereby the color parts having 1μm film thickness are arranged at the light drop-out regions. |
