<p>PURPOSE: To provide a golf ball whose repulsion performance is high and whose flying distance is large and whose cut resistance is excellent, by constituting the major element of the base material polymer of a cover to cover a core, with a trans-polybutadiene or the like that is grafted with maleic anhydride and neutralized with a metal ion. CONSTITUTION: The major element of the base material polymer of a cover 2 to cover a core 1 is made up of a trans-polybutadiene that is grafted with maleic anhydride and is neutralized with a metal ion, or a trans-polyisoprene or trans-polyoctenemer or the mixture of these. The content of grafted maleic anhydride is made to be 0.003-0.1 mols per mol of double bond of trans- polybutadiene or trans-polyisoprene or trans-polyoctenemer, and a degree of neutralization by the metal ion is made to be 10-100%. In addition, the trans-1, 4-configuration content of trans-polybutadiene, trans-polyisoprene or the like is made to be more than 60%.</p> |
