PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which is used appropriately in forming a high quality image on a transfer body such as plain paper etc., and is easy of handling and a thermal transfer recording method and a thermal transfer recording apparatus in which the thermal transfer sheet is used. CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer sheet is prepared by forming a receiving layer part 1, a color material layer part 2, and an adhesive layer part 3 on the same base material sheet. An image is formed by transferring a heat migrating color material contained in the color material layer of the part 2 to the image receiving layer of the part 1. The adhesive layer of the part 3 is transferred to a transfer body, and next the image receiving layer with an image formed of the part 1 is transferred from the adhesive layer to the transfer body. Or, the image is formed by transferring the color material contained in the color material layer of the part 2 to the image receiving layer of the part 1, and next the adhesive layer of the part 3 is transferred onto the image receiving layer with the image formed, and then the image receiving layer with the adhesive layer transferred is transferred to the transfer body. |
