The chain connecting member (1a) has two identical U-shaped sliding arcs (2,3) joined at the arms (5,6), and a spacing web (10a) with guide grooves (31), between the arms of the guide plates (9), inserted transversely and fixed in position. The spacing web has at least one locking element (34) which can be turned and/or moved along, acting directly or indirectly with the guide plates. The locking element, in the form of a bolt, fixes the spacing web to the arms of the arcs.
