The machine comprises a vertical spindle (12) mounted with vertical adjustment on a transverse slide (3,6). The workpiece holder has a table (19) mounted on a support (18) fitted to a rotating mounting about a horizontal axis (21). The horizontal axis is offset from the central axis (36) of the machine. The workpiece table rotates about an axis (25) which is perpendicular to the horizontal axis (21). The machine is controlled from a control panel (33) which is portable and which can be fixed in different mounting positions on the machine.
