<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize both the increase of an expansion value and the reduction of dimensions of an electrostrictive actuator. <P>SOLUTION: This electrostrictive actuator 1A has an expanding part 3A made of expanding insulation material, electrode parts 4A which are made of expanding conductive material and provided on both the sides of the expanding part 3A respectively, and a control part which controls a voltage applied to the electrode parts 4A. The expanding part 3A made of the expanding insulation material has a cylindrical shape and the electrode parts 4A made of the expanding conductive material are provided on the inner and outer surfaces of the cylindrical expanding part 3A respectively to form a string- shaped actuator part 2A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
