PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair having a lift for moving a sick person lying on a bed directly to the wheelchair. SOLUTION: A lift if formed by fixing a short pipe 2 to the front surface of a vertical member 1 in front of the armrest parts of a four-wheeled wheelchair, removably inserting a weight-supporting column 3 in place, connecting and tilting forward the upper part of the column, disposing parallel to an upper member a winding shaft having both a lift rope drum 11 and a gear 12, disposing a lower connecting member, attaching a speed reducing motor 15 there to, and bringing the pinion gear 17 of the motor 15 into engagement with the gear 12 of the winding shaft 6. A turnover prevention member is removably mounted in front of a front-to-rear-wheel connecting member 20 and is inserted into a floor beneath a bed, and a weight support hanging on a hook at the lower end of a lift rope 24 is fitted over the shoulders of a sick person in a lying attitude and is hung up to put him or her into a sitting attitude with his or her back facing the wheelchair; once a certain height is reached, the lift is switched to lower the wheelchair and right and left rear pulling ropes attached to the weight support are wound on drums to lower the wheelchair so as to allow him or her to be seated on the wheelchair directly from the bed. |
