PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel structure not to disturb an electron beam orbit, to prevent loss of reaching electron amount onto a phosphor to prevent reduction of light emitting efficiency, and to stabilize light emission, by arranging atmosphere resistant spacer in parallel with a deflecting direction of an electron beam of electron emission and element emission. SOLUTION: Electron emission columns 53 and atmosphere resistant spacers 7 are alternately arranged, and a surface conductive electron emission element is used as an electron emission element 52. An electron beam emitted from the electron emission element 52 has a Z-directional component due to an accelerating voltage applied mainly between a back plate and a face plate, and is deflected to the electrode side of a positive electrode element to have a +X- directional or -X-directional velocity component. The electron beam finally collides to a phosphor, namely irradiated member on the inner surface of the face plate, to emit light, and forms an image. At this time, the orbit of the electron beam flying at the accelerating voltage is not disturbed by the atmosphere resistant spacers 7, and therefore, the electron beam finally collides to the phosphor similarly to the case of no atmosphere resistant spacers 7. |
