PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable irradiation direction headlight device constituted to irradiate light toward the upper side of a horizontal line on the right and left sides with simple constitution. SOLUTION: This variable irradiation direction headlight device is provided with a light 14 supported swingingly around a nearly vertical rotating shaft 15; a driving means 16 for swinging the light 14 around the rotating shaft; and a lighting device 13 for supplying the light 14 with electric power. The variable irradiation direction headlight device 10 is constituted to support the light 14 around the rotating shaft so that a light irradiation direction is on the upper side of a horizontal line when the light 14 is swung at least to the left.
