<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor capable of detecting both magnetic and nonmagnetic bodies and being manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: The magnetic sensor is capable of detecting whether there presence of an object and whether the object is a magnetic or nonmagnetic body, by detecting a change in impedance through phase detection, in phase timing which matches the object to be detected, in such a manner that the change in impedance can be decomposed into a loss component (resistance component) and an inductance component, and then detecting the level of oscillation amplitude at either object. Decomposing the change into the inductance and loss components facilitates compensation for the temperature characteristic. For nonmagnetic bodies, temperature characteristic are better, if only the inductance component is detected with the loss component being excluded.</p> |
