PURPOSE: A capacitor-array D/A converter including thermometer decoder and capacitor array is provided to be capable of reducing the adverse effects of the dispersion of a capacitance value at the time of manufacture. CONSTITUTION: This capacitor array type D/A converter includes a thermometer decoder(103) for decoding first through m-th (m is an integer not less than 2) input bits to produce an output signal having first through n-th (n=2m-1) output bits. First through n-th switches(SU1-SUn) is corresponding to the first through n-th output bits of the thermometer decoder. A capacitor array(104) further includes first to n-th capacitors(8C1-8Cn) corresponding to the first to n-th switches. The respective first to n-th switches receive a corresponding bit among the first to n-th output bits from the thermometer decoder(103) and supply a prescribed voltage to the corresponding capacitor among the first to n-th capacitors only in the case that the corresponding bit is logic '1'. The first to n-th capacitors(8C1-8Cn) are arranged in the main area of the capacitor array successively from the center, in the horizontal direction which is symmetric to the center line.
