PURPOSE:To smoothly control the temperature of a fixing roller at the time of warming up, in the middle of standby and in the middle of printing operation, to restrain the temperature rise of a fixing device when abnormality occurs, and to always keep the temperature thereof equal to or under the fire point and the smoke point of recording paper. CONSTITUTION:In the case when temperature detected by a thermistor 7 is within the same temperature range for a specified time or more set for each temperature range previously subdivided at the time of warming up a fixing heater 1, a sequence control part 8 judges that the abnormality occurs, and makes a control signal S1 'H' and a control signal S2 'L' so as to farcibly turn off the energizing of the fixing heater 1. The fixing heater 1 is forcibly turned off also in the case the fixing heater is in an on-state for the previously set specified time or more at the time of standing by and at the time of performing the printing operation. |
