PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of firing a strobe at a motion image mode and causing a continuous light source to operate in a still image mode. SOLUTION: An illuminating device for the digital camera comprising one or a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) 306 together with the strobe 304 is assembled. The LED is configured to provide illumination for an object during the motion image mode of the digital camera, and the strobe 304 is configured to provide illumination for object during the still image mode of the camera. While, in some embodiments, these independent light sources may share the same reflector 308, in other embodiments, these light sources may use different reflectors. This illuminating device may be incorporated into the digital camera, or in some embodiments, may be configured as a different device to be controlled by the digital camera.
