<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily search a target window from among a plurality of windows opened on a display by one application program. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of types of windows W1, W2, W3, ... are simultaneously opened on the display 2 of a computer 1 by one application program, and a user designates data that the user wants to extract and the types of windows that the user wants to extract. The application extracts all of the designated types of the windows of the designated data among all of the windows W1, W2, W3, ... currently opened on the display 2 and displays titles of icons W1', W2', W3', ... individually showing respective extracted windows on the display 2.
