An electronic apparatus preventing an abnormal power off and a method thereof are provided to perform a normal power off step by supplying the auxiliary power and maintaining power for the predetermined time. In an electronic apparatus preventing an abnormal power off, a main power supply unit(210) is provided. An auxiliary power supply unit(220,225) supplies power for a function switching of each element or a normal power off step. A switching control unit(250) controls a pair of switching units(240,245) for switching a power transmission path from the main power supply unit(210) or the auxiliary power supply unit(220,225) and informs a control unit of the power off state. The switching units(240,245) switch the power transmission path according to a control of the switching control unit(250). A logical sum calculation unit(230) applies a logical sum calculation for a control signal of the control unit and the main power and outputs the logical sum calculated value as an activation signal of a power transformation unit(260). The power transformation unit(260) activated by the activation signal of the logical sum calculation unit(230) rectifies the power applied through the power transmission path continued by the switching units(240,245) and outputs the rectified power. The control unit(270) controls the normal power off step by the power of the power transformation unit(260).
