<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for connecting small diameter piping capable of stably performing connection of the piping and a mating component with a simple operation while maintaining high air-tightness even with a compact structure, upon connecting the small diameter piping having a diameter of about 20 mm or less. <P>SOLUTION: A connector main body is shortened by forming cutout window parts and elastic claw walls in parallel by equally cutting out the outer peripheral face of a connector main body cylindrical part having a male screw formed for screwing and assembling to the mating component. Air-tightness of a passage is maintained by engagingly pressing a seal ring and a backup sleeve installed in advance to the inner peripheral face of a tip end cylindrical part of the connector main body to an engaging wall formed on the mating component by an engaging wall formed on the tip end of the elastic claw wall. Dust is prevented from intruding into the system by closing a rearward opening part by an interior member and a dust preventing cap attached at the rear of the connector main body.
