<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid acid improving ionic conductivity, and to provide a solid acid having high inhibitability of methanol crossover, a polymer electrolyte membrane, and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The solid acid containing a carbon nanotube, a spacer group combined with the carbon nanotube, and a proton conductive functional group connected to the spacer group, the polymer electrolyte membrane containing the solid acid, and the fuel cell are provided. The polymer electrolyte membrane has improved ionic conductivity and high inhibitability of methanol crossover.
