<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cancel the feeling of incompatibility of a driver by preventing application of unexpected vehicle control to an object to which the driver does not intend to apply vehicle control as the object of control. <P>SOLUTION: In application of traveling control to its own vehicle by a traveling control means M6 based on a distance and relative speed between its own vehicle and the object of control determined by a control object determination means M4, when a manual stop detection means M7 detects that its own vehicle has stopped based on the speed of its own vehicle detected by a speed detection means 14 and the deceleration operation of an driver detected by a deceleration operation detection means 15, and when a comparison means M4a judges that the distance between its own vehicle and the object existing on the traveling trajectory of its own vehicle is a judgment threshold or more, the control object determination means M4 excludes the object from the object of control. Hence when its own vehicle stops far away from the object, that is, when the driver does not intend to apply vehicle control to the object as the object of control, the application of vehicle control to the object as the object of control against the intention of the driver is avoided, so that the feeling of incompatibility of the driver can be canceled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
